Job Description
Hope and Homes for Children – Ukraine is seeking a driven fundraiser to join our team and be part of change which enable all children to grow in loving and securing family environment. In this role, you will use your expert communication skills and keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, develop and maintain relationships with potential donors. By partnership negotiations, coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting sponsors and volunteers, you will enhance your speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving the organisation closer to its financial goals.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, creative, innovative and organised. We are looking for someone who believes in Hope and Homes for Children mission and will demonstrate exceptional drive to bring resources and investments to implement our strategy.
Objectives of this Role
• Raise funds for our cause from big and small & medium corporate enterprises (international and national) by partnership negotiations
• Promote awareness of the organisation’s mission and work
• Cultivate a network of dedicated donors
• Build and develop long-term trustful relationships and partnerships with corporate and private donors
• Spot new fundraising opportunities
• Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve fundraising activities
• Plan and implement fundraising initiatives, events to help the organization meet financial goals
• Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop
Key Responsibilities
• Research potential individuals, corporations, and foundations to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position our organisation to them
• Maintain records of donors and manage regular donor communications
• Effectively convey the organisation’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors
• Craft grant applications and fundraising proposals
• Organise fundraising events
• Set financial targets for fundraising activities, and create strategies for reaching them
• Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve fundraising activities
Skills and Qualifications
• University degree in communications, business, public relations, or a related field
• A minimum of two years’ experience in fundraising position with proven effective results
• Exceptional communication (verbal and writing) and relationship-building skills
• Ability to lead and motivate colleagues and volunteers
• Experience writing grant proposals, press releases, and/or fundraising letters
• Strong attention to detail
• Creativity and persuasion skills
• Excellent leadership qualities and presentation skills
• Adept at managing tasks, planning events, and balancing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
• Certificate in Fundraising, Diploma in Fundraising, or similar qualification
• Competence in Microsoft Office suite and donor management systems
• Confidence with public speaking
